On average, England have utilised 1.7 new goalkeepers in the 57 years since Sir Alf Ramsey took the reins back in 1963.

This quiz runs right up to the present day, with the most recent No1 called up for the Three Lions making his international bow in the victory over Romania last June.

Date of debut and the club they were playing for at the time (bear in mind it could have been a loan) are given as handy hints. Incidentally, two clubs are tied for being most represented on the list; Manchester United and Norich sharing the spoils with three goalkeepers each.

Bit of a thinker, this one. We’ve chucked ten minutes on the clock to give you some breathing space.

Don’t throw nor blow this one away, quizzers.
