LISTEN: Goalkeepers’ Union Podcast E24

Frankie Fielding joins up with GKU

Fun-time Frankie.

This week’s guest is a man who first came to mainstream attention when he received a surprise call-up to Fabio Capello’s first England squad after the disastrous World Cup campaign in 2010.

He’s enjoyed successful loan spells at Wycombe, Northampton and Rochdale, where he helped the club to a first promotion in more than 40 years, and he currently plies his trade at Championship playoff chasers, Bristol City.

Frankie Fielding discusses the highs and lows of life as a goalkeeper, including a recent bout of viral meningitis, pleading with Sam Allardyce to let him out on loan at Blackburn and using his profile to give back to the community.
