Foul or no foul?
It’s certainly not the first time and most likely not the last time we’ll have this debate on the Goalkeepers’ Union Podcast.
Regardless of whether or not it was an indiscretion on the part of West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna, a goal was given against Alisson and Liverpool – the first of three which saw The Hammers pull off an impressive victory over, dare we say it, their title rivals.
Nick Pope and Tim Krul, helping Norwich to a first three points of the season, produced arguably their best performances so far this term, whereas David de Gea – despite keeping Manchester United in the game with a string of fine first-half saves in the eventual defeat to neighbours Man City – was lambasted by messrs Keane and Neville for failing to keep out Bernardo Silva’s strike.
Special mentions must go to Ben Foster (a 500th career club outing at the Emirates), Marek Rodak (five clean sheets in a row for Fulham) and FA Cup First Round stars Ethan Ross (Stockport), Theo Richardson (Buxton) and Ryan Boot (Solihull Moors).
