With Richard still kicking back in Dubai, this BTS episode remains via Zoom.
As per usual, it contains all the usual goalkeeping goodness, with a focus on David de Gea’s distribution in Manchester United’s win over Newcastle, Ederson braving a boot to the face against Leicester and Aaron Ramsdale making his Premier League debut for Arsenal.
Congrats go to Vicente Guaita for racking up 100 appearances at Crystal Palace, a second full top-flight appearance for Jed Steer (six years after his first) and a first league outing for Ben Hamer at Swansea.
There’s also a word on Swedish stopper, Pontus Dahlberg. The 22-year-old joined Doncaster on a season-long loan from Watford in August, and duly found himself propping up the League One table as Richie Wellens’ side are yet to bag a victory this term. The nine goals against, however, could have been significantly more had it not been for Dahlberg’s heroics.
