Between the Sticks #105

And the deal is finally done.

Aaron Ramsdale has joined Arsenal for a healthy £24m. Eyebrows have most certainly been raised in some quarters and you have been asking GKU whether The Gunners and Ramsdale are indeed the right fit.

Rich answers your questions and offers his verdict on a goalkeeper who has probably been talked about more than any other in recent BTS history.

As it happens, Bernd Leno pulled off a save of the season contender in what proved to be a comprehensive defeat for Arsenal at the hands of Chelsea, but it’s a little reminder to Mikel Arteta as to who currently occupies the gloves.

Illan Meslier provided two match-saving stops in Leeds’ draw with Everton, just as David Raya did for Brentford in their stalemate with Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, Hugo Lloris hit 300 for Tottenham – quite an achievement for one of the most consistent performers the Premier League has seen.

In the Championship, we cast an eye over Russell Martin’s new-look Swansea and consider how Steven Benda will fare playing out the back moving forward, there’s a nod to nine saves made by Dimitar Mitov as Cambridge beat Burton and Jojo Wollacott receives praise for his first proper run at pro football with Swindon.

Text Talk also returns; Accrington’s James Trafford sends in his WhatsApp voice note this week.
